Brigadier Victor Henry Jaques CBE DSO MC & Bar, (1896-1955), medal group comprising CBE, DSO Military Cross with Bar, WWI British Duo with Oak leaf, WWII are, Defence, 1939-45 Star, Africa Star, Burma Star, Italy Star and Fifth Class of the Order of the White Elephant, Jaques served as a British Army Officer in WWI before becoming a Lawyer in Bangkok, rising through the ranks in WWI Jacques was awarded the Military Cross on 15 October 1918, for 'Conspicuous gallantry and dash during a raid on enemy trenches', where he lead a patrol into No Man's Land for three snipers while under machine gun and mortar fire, on 15 February 1919, Jacques received a bar for his Military Cross for his actions in an attack on a German position north of the Ormignon River on 18 September 1918, during the Hundred Day Offensive, he 'Handle his Company throughout with conspicuous ability and displayed great Gallantry', Once his Unit had reached the final objective, he reorganised his company, as well as the platoons in other Companies that had lost their officers while under heavy machine gun fire, the very well presented medal group is being sold with his War Records, Commissions/Warrants, Certificates for awarded medals, Passports, Army Forms, Photographs, the London Gazettes he appears in and more (parcel)
