‘Boots’, an early German Teddy Bear, circa, 1910, one of Colonel Bob Henderson’s favourite bears, with golden mohair, black boot button eyes, pronounced muzzle, black stitched nose and claws, swivel head, jointed elongated arms, hump, inoperative growler and leather boots with wooden soles and horseshoe edges —24 ½in. (62cm.) high (general wear and thinning, fading, eyes a bits loose, pads recovered, legs not checked under boots); ex lot 31 from Col Bob Henderson collection at Christie’s South Kensington, 5th December 1994; sold with a special hard back edition of the Christie’s catalogue; two original press photographs of Col Bob with his collection and Teddy Girl; a family photograph album, one photo features Teddy Girl; various postcards to and from Bob; and a group of Bear Tracks the journal of Good Bears of the World, the charity Bob help to set up - see Some of our Favourite Bears by Ian Pout, page 41
