Theodora’, a Steiff miniature Teddy Bear, 1910-20, with golden mohair, black bead eyes, remains of black stitched nose and mouth, swivel head, jointed limbs with large feet, FF underscored button in ear and knitted outfit —3 ½in. (9cm.) high (wear and balding, right ear loose at bottom) - owned by a Mrs Gillett, an occasional visitor to Witney, she loved bears and used to search her handbag to look for and then show us her own, of which she was very proud. After her death, her trustees offered this little bear to Witney to find a good home. Janice, Ian’s colleague suggested she would make a good companion for Theodore, she was named Theodora and they have remained together since 2000.
