A Bruce Bairnsfather’s Old Bill souvenir of the Revue Cheep starring Beatrice Lillie circa 1917, a simply made cloth toy with applied circular face, appears to be hand drawn features, a black wool moustache, paper fastener button and on the reverse a cloth label printed ‘Vaudeville Theatre - Cheep! - with Beatrice Lillie’s Compliments —8 1/4in. (21cm.) high (slightly faded) - a West End Revue by Harry Grattan starred Beatrice Lillie, Teddie Gerard, Guy Lefeuvre, Clay Smith, Lee White and Walter Williams, premiered on 26th April 1917 for 483 performances
