A J K Farnell Bruce Bairnsfather’s 1st World War Old Bill, with velvet face, white painted eyes with black boot button pupils, painted eyebrows and nose, brown mohair tuft of hair and moustache, wired body with khaki uniform, brushed cotton balaclava, gloves and shoes, oil-cloth belt, putties and wool scarf —15in. (38cm.) high (discoloured and faded, some holes to uniform, a little fragile)
