A late 17th century silver covered tankard by RW, wide base and tapered body having applied handle and hinged lid with flared rim, Hallmarked Chester 1690-92, sold with supporting letter from the Antique plate community case number 9643, stating the tankard to be hallmarked with accordance with the 1973 Hallmarking Act, the handle with engraved initials LDM and having a later believed family crest to body, condition as typical to age, with lots of repairs and restorations to base, lid, hinge and thumb piece, 27.58 Ozt, hight 17.5cm
