A 19th Century lacquered brass Ross No. 4 Wenham Binocular Petrological Microscope Stand, serial no. 3699, on Y-shaped foot, with mechanical sub-stage condenser, periphery-geared mechanical divided circular stage, rectangular-section body supported by large trunnion mount with locking clamp, and body-tube engraved at base 'Wenham's Binocular by Ross, London', with three pairs of eyepieces, pair of eyepiece extension tubes, achromatic condenser, bull's-eye condenser and ten objectives, two with correction, in cans, all in mahogany case, 560mm high, circa 1873, G-VG
