A Märklin live steam 'Transformable' Locomobile/Stationary Engine, Märklin ref 4099/02 of 1920s production, uniquely-designed to operate as a powered 'locomobile', or as an overtype horizontal stationary engine using the special baseplate, or as a vertical engine, features to facilitate this including the special baseplate, a boiler with straight-through and side-entry flue, slide-on firebox backplate, adaptable chimney, and swivelling Watt-type governor for vertical or horizontal operation, the engine itself witha double-acting cylinder with slip-eccentric reversing, disengagable gear and spring-belt drive to one rear wheel, whistle and drain cock, and is complete with spirit burner, drive bands, baseplate and all fittings, finished in black and brass with dark grey wheels, VG, small dent to front left side of boiler
