A 18th century painted silk purse or case, the elliptical cream silk covered card sides, the front depicts a young gentleman building a house of playing cards and is titled ‘L’Amitie’ (Friendship) and the reverse with four playing cards surrounded by sprigs of flower, each side has a silver thread edge, pleated ribbon edge and remains of silk sides —4 1/4in. (11cm.) high (sides of purse perished)
