Bank of Spain, an important, original hand drawn design essay for the reverse of the 1928 500 Pesetas circulation note, date stamped on the back of the frame ' 16 FEB 1928', produced by Bradbury Wilkinson, the design in pencil, ink and watercolour measures 11.0cms x 15.0cms, the main image is hand drawn directly on to the card with other hand drawn elements applied as layers, framed by a card overlay, bearing a Bradbury Wilkinson & Co Ltd Label to the bottom left corner, the frame also has a tracing paper overlay attached to the front along the top edge, there are some very tiny pin puncture marks visible to the centre top and bottom and the centre left and right of the design, and in one or two other places, perhaps used for layout and fixing purposes, there are some simple notes and annotations in ink and pencil on the frame around the design, the design is very clean with great colour, overall in very good condition Specimen notes in 'Lot 164'
