A rare Deans Rag Book Co Will Hay Dr Alec Smart teacher character from the 1935 film Boys will be Boys, with painted composition swivel head, mohair wig, stuffed body with wired armature, carved wooden hands, integral black oil-cloth boots, original clothes including dog tooth suit, red waistcoat, felt mortarboard and gown, pince nez, holding a book, green and white printed label on sole of shoe and blue D shaped card tag —15 1/2in. (39.5cm.) high (crack to forehead and some fading) - possibly a short run of this toy or even a prototype, as hands being hand carved would probably not be economical to produce in quantity
